This is Faces sand coat Oatmeal Raisin. I do not like the name. I love the rest of it. It’s breathtakingly beautiful and unlike any polish I own. I did three coats here. Now, going by Faces Cosmetics history I’d say its their take on OPI’s very famous Alcatraz Rocks. Not that I am complaining. 😉
I am mostly pretty meh about polish fads/trends. Like I dont own any shatter or magnetic polishes. But the textured polish trend has all my attention.
This is the first mani I have ever done with striping tape. All courtesy the lovely Kejal. She sent me the tape and my first set of nail art brushes! ! Thank you Kejal! I need to break open the brushes now. 🙂
This one is with topcoat. So if you dont like textured polish its still just as stunning with a topcoat.
And this is a very thin coat of Jessica Gingersnap over Faces Oatmeal raisin. Fascinating!!!
Dutch ’Ya Just Love OPI?
I have had this polish for so long and this is the first time I put it on (as far as I remember 😛 ). I was pretty sure it wasnt as beautiful as all the swatches made it look. But it is! It is!
This is me practicing the lines. I really want to be able to move the brush on my nail and be able to breath, both at the same time. Haha!
Ah well!! All in good time! 🙂
Today is India’s Independence Day and I wanted to do my nails for the day. But then I was visited by the not so lovely and never welcome throat infection. Bah! Anyway I somehow managed these. Not bad,eh! 🙂
Zoya Gwin & Sally Hansen Black Out
I struggle with craft scissor and tape a lot. So I am absolutely thrilled that I managed to get a decent result here.I am hoping one of these days I will get some success with the stripes too. 😛
I dont think we will get much sunlight for next couple of months, which means I will have to figure out how to click under artificial lights. These pictures dont do justice to the glorious Gwin.
Bourjois BC Beige is my new favourite polish. I adore it. Initially I wanted to do some neon flowers on it ( I am obsessed with floral too). But I wanted to see how it paired with OPI Get in the expresso lane.
Need to work on the stripes!
OPI Get in the Expresso Lane, 2coats. No top coat.
Yay! Finally the bottle shot!
OPI Get in the Expresso Lane and Chopstickng to my story
There is another green polish I used. But I don’t remember which.
This is a classic example of how you should sometimes leave the polish alone. 😀
Lesson learnt?! Let’s hope! 😛
Viviana Dark Desire 2 coats, OPI Chopsticking to my story.
After I removed the tape I realised the accent nail design looked too flag-ish. Not what I was going for. So I thought of redoing the accent. And then I saw Revlon Electric and made some dots. Now I don’t know if it was the combination of colors or the layering of patterns or just my obsession with Electric, but I liked the end result. So here it is.
So this is my last post of 2012. Happy New Year!! Wishing you all the best in 2013! 🙂
Lakme Fast & Fabulous Flaming Orange, Colorama Verde Palmeira, LA Glitter
I have finally found an Orange I like. Thanks KJ!! This is Lakme Fast & Fabulous Flaming Orange. It is little brighter IRL than in these photos.
I tried doing this for the accent. And failed! So to take the attention away I painted some stripes with black acrylic paint! I might have succeeded. What say?
In anycase I liked this mani a lot and kept it for couple of days. Which is surprising considering I always stick to accent nails. I “need” clean, plain polish on all my other nails. Its almost a compulsion! 😛
